O estudo do caráter intelectual tem sido uma das áreas mais crescentes da epistemologia nas últimas três décadas com seu foco nas virtudes e vícios de agentes cognitivos e suas práticas epistêmicas. Este Simpósio reunirá especialistas internacionais e nacionais que pesquisam ativamente sobre o tema e com algumas das publicações recentes mais relevantes na área, inclusive obras sobre Educação de Virtudes, Epistemologia dos Vícios, Honestidade, e o Papel de Virtudes em Comunidades.

The study of intellectual character has been one of the fastest growing areas of epistemology over the past three decades with its focus on the virtues and vices of cognitive agents and their epistemic practices. This Symposium will bring together international and national experts who are actively researching the topic and with some of the most relevant recent publications in the field, including works on Virtues Education, Epistemology of Vices, Honesty, and the Role of Virtues in Communities. Presentations will be in English and Portuguese.
